Why does simplicity matter ?
Have you tried something and in the middle of it you left it ?
I’m sure we’ve all been in situations where the complexity drove us away, maybe it’s an app mechanism or even in real life examples like having ALL house’s light switches in one place (which doesn’t make sense)
Bauhaus: Frictionless Design
In Bauhaus, you basically strip down your design to the simplest form, to the boundaries of functionality.
No distractions. No complexity. Just the essential elements to do the job.
That’s the kind of simplicity I admire.
Apple: Sophistication Without Showing Off
Apple always tries to go to the most extreme sophistication of simplicity, their design feels invisible – It works without needing to think about it.
We can take their application of Apple Intelligence in iOS 26 as an example, where they made the AI part of our experience instead of prompting and asking for stuff. Another is the key-less entry for cars, where in supported cars you can open the doors with just holding your phone near to it.
All of that to make it feels natural.

The reality is that our brains are lazy, and likes to make as few steps as possible in order to reach a goal, you can think of it as when you go from a place to another; you look for the straight road or simplest route to arrive.
Fewer Steps = Less Mental Load = Better Experience = Happy Brain 🧠
This is a trait of us, and some people/companies takes it to the extent that they create algorithms and programs for years to achieve that.
BTW, creating Apps is one of the interpretations for this, where we put a lot of thinking and steps to eliminate thinking, so we don’t have to think about that again..
I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.

Reflection
When you’re building something — or even just thinking through your day — try to make it stupidly simple!
Not because people can’t handle complexity…
But because real simplicity takes effort.
And when it’s done right, it feels effortless.
